The Stud Sixa runner, who had come up short in three straight tries down the straight course, surged late to score decisively in his return to the turns

After going largely unnoticed in the Gran Premio Ciudad de Buenos Aires (G1) and the Santiago Lawrie (G3) and Diamond Jubilee classics, Say It Fast left the straight course behind, returned to races around the turns, and staged a commanding rebound, capturing the Clásico Refinado Tom (L-1200 m, dirt), the feature of an otherwise quiet Wednesday card at San Isidro Racecourse.
Carrying a light 53½ kilos, the Stud Sixa runner powered down the final stretch, having raced inside and handled all the traffic during much of the early stages while several leaders set the pace up front.
Oriental Boy (Cosmic Trigger, 55) and Rugiente (Il Campione, 57½) were the first to take control, joined around the turn by Lo Dejo Todo (Le Blues, 58) and Freed From Desire (Holy Boss, 53½).
Meanwhile, jockey Brian Enrique waited patiently on the inside for an opening. As the race hit the decisive stage, he smoothly guided Say It Fast to the center of the track, and the response from the Cosmic Trigger colt could not have been better: he surged powerfully and drew away effortlessly.
At the finish, Say It Fast scored by 3½ lengths over the favorite Lo Dejo Todo, marking that runner’s fourth consecutive second-place finish. Freed From Desire was third, two lengths further back, edging Rugiente and Mario’s Rim (Remote, 53½) by a head and a half, all in a swift 1:08.46 for 1200 meters, with fractions of 22.42 and 45.27 seconds.
Bred by Haras Abolengo and trained by Walter Suárez and María F. Alvarez, Say It Fast notched his fourth career victory in ten starts and his first at San Isidro.
The afternoon’s hero is the third foal of Say It Nice (Asiatic Boy), a two-time winner in her career, descending from one of Haras Ojo de Agua’s most distinguished female lines—Veneta (Foxglove)—which has produced numerous Grade I winners.
