Captured the Haras Santa Elena and Asociación Argentina de Fomento Equino, Respectively

LA PLATA.- Sunday’s card at La Plata won’t be remembered as one for the ages, but the highlights came courtesy of Seré Científica(Exodus) and Garbiñe (Lucullan). The former wired the field in the Especial Haras Santa Elena (1000m), while the latter proved much the best in the Especial Asociación Argentina de Fomento Equino (1400m), both contested over a heavy dirt track.
It was Garbiñe who stole the show. Making her first local appearance, the Salvador de Puertos colorbearer fully lived up to expectations, rolling home an easy winner and stamping herself as a serious candidate for the G2 Clásico Marcos Levalle over a mile for fillies and mares, to be run on the same Nov. 19 card as the G1 Gran Premio Dardo Rocha.
Ridden by the up-and-coming Lucas González, the Juan Saldivia trainee stalked Illa Alegre (Sabat Husson) into the far turn before gliding past while carrying just 52 kilos. Despite being carried out wide by the pacesetter, she kicked clear effortlessly in upper stretch and opened up to win by five lengths. Illa Alegre held second, two ahead of Tac-Tac(Manipulator), with Jalimba (Señor Candy) another four back in fourth. Bred by Haras La Pasión, Garbiñe stopped the clock in 1:25.12.
Earlier, Seré Científica (56 kg) continued her solid run of form, taking full advantage of the absence of Señora Bagaces(Lizard Island) to make all in the Haras Santa Elena. She lasted by just a half-head over Real Moon Kiss (Exchange Kiss), with Ventaja Clara (Sardinero) another 2 1/2 lengths back in third. The winner, bred privately by Rubén Patricio Migani and campaigned by El Ruso, covered the trip in 1:00.41 under a well-judged ride from Lautaro Balmaceda.
