LA PLATA, Argentina – The talk and aftershocks left by the Gran Premio Dardo Rocha (G1) meeting are beginning to fade, and this provincial circuit is gradually returning to its usual rhythm. Amid the constant shuffling of dates—a situation that not only creates confusion but also generates financial losses—the gates at the eucalyptus-lined venue will open once again this Friday for a 15-race program.

Center stage will be taken by the Especial Ranquelia (1100m, dirt), for mares aged five and up with three or more victories, a contest that on paper shapes as wide-open. One of the topweights at 58 kilos will be Seré Científica (Exodus), a mare in peak form who will look to extend her excellent run. Racing for Stud El Ruso of Río Cuarto, she comes off back-to-back wins in the Especial Haras Pozo de Luna and Especial Haras Santa Elena.

Standing in her path is Empress Life (Legión de Honor, 54), who turned in a strong effort when runner-up—by half a neck—to Agradecida Pass (Distinctiv Passion) in the Handicap José Hernández, finishing ahead of Save Your Tears(Full Mast), among others.

Although now six years old, Estadía (Il Campione, 54) continues to hold her form. Absent since July, when she finished a distant fourth in the Handicap Hyperion at Palermo, she could surprise fresh.

Meanwhile, Señora Bagaces (Lizard Island, 58), who will also carry topweight, has perhaps lost some of her sharpness but could find in this race the right stage to get back on track. On past performances alone, she remains one of the strongest names in the field.
