Friday’s card at Hipódromo de San Isidro featured four stakes races that captured most of the attention, but the allowance division also provided plenty of highlights, particularly among the three-year-olds.

In the Premio Bronx, for 3-year-old colts with a single victory, the 2000-meter turf distance served as a preview for the upcoming Gran Premio Jockey Club (G1), the second leg of the Triple Crown. Here, Señor Sandro (CityscapeCalcolatrice, by Pure Prize, bred by Oswaldo Avilez Salas) showcased his improvement, rallying strongly in the stretch to defeat the Brazilian Phantom (Outstrip) by 2½ lengths over yielding turf in a time of 2:03.70.

Campaigned by Stud Las Monjitas, trained by Carlos D. Etchechoury, presented by Daniel Bordón, and ridden by Francisco Leandro, his finish impressed and he is expected to appear on the Derby entry list.

Another standout was Hi Scottish (Hi HappyScarlatt, by Orpen), La Providencia’s colt who returned to allowance company for his first win. Second in his Palermo debut and disappointing in the G2 Clásico Miguel Cané, he handled turf for the first time to win the 1400-meter Premio Ser Sincero, pulling away by five lengths over Simple Rule (Daniel Boone) in 1:25.52. Riders Nicolás Gaitán and trainer Eduardo Ortega Pavón guided him to the score.

In the same division, Desigual (NicholasRispida, by Hurricane CatHaras El Mallín) led from start to finish, showing courage in the stretch to hold off Roman Flame (Roman Joy) by a neck in 1:25.30. Kevin Banegas rode the Daniel Cima trainee to a fine performance.

Finally, Bella María (Cosmic TriggerTreasure Time, by OrpenHaras Juan Antonio) impressed in the Premio Violeta M, defending her unbeaten record with a dominant front-running performance, defeating La Debilidad (Equal Talent) by four lengths in 1:25.31. Trained by Hugo Pérez for Stud El Olimpo, she was guided by Juan C. Villagra.
