Backed by the powerful team of Marcelo Sueldo and Gonzalo Borda, she led home a Cityscape exacta in the stakes feature

LA PLATA.- After so much waiting and expectation surrounding Siesta, the filly finally delivered.
Long held in high regard by trainer Marcelo Sueldo, the daughter of Cityscape found in La Plata the perfect stage to begin fulfilling the promise her connections always believed she possessed.
Displaying complete authority and clearly relishing the 1500-meter distance, she captured Tuesday's Clásico Raúl Aristegui (G2) and followed in the footsteps of stablemates Gota Clara Sos (Made You Look) and Salema (Il Mercato), both of whom had previously occupied the top spot among the local juvenile fillies before moving on to bigger challenges.
Gonzalo Borda sent her away alertly and settled her in third, close behind pace-setting Onda Sexy (Lizard Island), who posted an opening quarter in :24.63 and reached the 800-meter mark in a swift :47.48.
By that stage, Siesta was already beginning her advance on the outside, accompanied by Candy Unica (Señor Candy), who raced between rivals.
Once straightened for home, Siesta wasted no time asserting her superiority.
She quickly swept to the lead and then drew away with complete ease, crossing the wire five lengths clear of Fuga a Italia (Cityscape), who rallied from the rear to complete a Cityscape exacta.
Another 2 1/2 lengths back, Onda Sexy held third by a head over Candy Unica, with the final time recorded in 1:31.82and an intermediate split of 1:11.74 for 1200 meters.
Sueldo conditions the filly for Stud Carpucho, while she was bred by Haras La Nora.
She is out of the generous Ever Quest (Asiatic Boy), who previously produced Peruvian Group 1 winner Mamá Nanzy (Equal Stripes). The pedigree traces back to the influential family of Entallada (Prince Canarina), which also includes Group 1 winners of the caliber of Vacilante (Practicante), Spazio (Farnesio), Vacacionada (Southern Halo), Vale Dori (Asiatic Boy), and Ever Peace (Alpha Plus), among others.
Siesta made a powerful statement in La Plata and finally displayed the level her connections always envisioned for her in this type of company.
It appears her story is only just beginning.
