The El Cárcara runner led every step of the way, spearheading a 1-2 finish for trainer Omar Labanca and sire Tetaze

LA PLATA.— Hugging the rail from the break and never relinquishing the lead, Sono Perfetto delivered a superb performance over a rain-ravaged track to capture the Comparación Stakes (L, 2200m), Thursday’s feature at this venue.
Returning to his home base after finishing fourth in the Clásico Otoño (G2) at Palermo, the son of standout sire Tetaze(Equal Stripes) reaffirmed his status as a major force—just as he had done last season, when he emerged as the top 3-year-old at La Plata.
With a determined Lautaro Balmaceda aboard, the Stud El Cárcara runner dictated terms throughout, unconcerned with his rivals and instead focused on setting a strong, punishing tempo—and he executed it to perfection.
Mannarino (Cosmic Trigger) attempted to apply pressure down the backstretch, but Sono Perfetto began to draw clear approaching the final turn, straightened for home with a commanding advantage, and only widened the margin from there, crossing the wire 7 lengths ahead of Amuni, completing a remarkable 1-2 for trainer Omar Labanca and sire Tetaze.
Another five lengths back, Ruso Real (In the Dark) finished third, a half-length in front of a fading Mannarino, who paid the price for his early effort. Well behind, Társico Sam (Társico) completed the order after a final time of 2:20.32, following solid fractions of :26.90, :50.26, 1:14.58, 1:39.49 and 2:06.42.
It was the fourth stakes victory at La Plata for Sono Perfetto—and his second against older horses—adding to his 2025 successes in the José Pedro Ramírez (G3), Provincia de Buenos Aires (G2) and Clausura (G2), along with several notable placings, including a strong effort in the Gran Premio Dardo Rocha (G1).
Bred by Sergio O. Savi and now approaching earnings of 73,000,000 pesos, Sono Perfetto delivered a powerful statement, proving his adaptability to demanding conditions and making it clear that anyone looking to beat him in La Plata’s staying races will have to bring their very best.
