The Son of Angiolo Captures the Clásico España (L), Earns His Fourth Straight Win, and Heads Toward the Ciudad de La Plata (G2) with High Expectations

LA PLATA.- The undisputed king of speed at La Plata, Es Aristocrático (Angiolo) reaffirmed his supremacy Thursday with a commanding victory in the Clásico España (L–1200m, dirt), stretching his winning streak to four and stamping himself as the clear favorite for the upcoming Clásico Ciudad de La Plata (G2) on November 19.
Sticking to the script that has brought him repeated success—settling off the pace before unleashing a powerful outside rally—the Stud Pauli runner brushed aside five rivals with the ease of a horse at the top of his game. The repeated efforts over recent weeks have done nothing to dull his brilliance.
With Gonzalo Borda once again in the irons, Es Aristocrático tracked the pace set by South Ballado (AP Candy), Mr. Versace (Fortify), and Garufa Mask (Mask), began advancing steadily around the turn, and swung into the stretch poised to strike. Despite a brief brush with Le Massif (Le Ken) near the stands, he quickly asserted command by the 250-meter pole and drew off effortlessly to score by three lengths over South Ballado, who held on gamely for second.
Le Massif finished another length back in third, with Mr. Versace and Rodo (Flowing Rye) completing the frame. Garufa Mask, after showing speed early, faded badly and finished last in an uncharacteristic performance. The winner stopped the clock in a sharp 1:10.10, after early fractions of :23.81 and :46.86.
While officially presented by Juan Pablo E. Díaz, the dark bay is trained by Marcelo Sueldo, who keeps him in outstanding form. Bred by Haras Tres Jotas, Es Aristocrático has now won 8 of 17 starts, including six at stakes leveland four black-type events, having previously captured the Clásico Uberto F. Vignart (G3), Clásico Jockey Club Argentino (L), and Clásico Club Hípico de Chile (L).
A half brother to G3 winner Soutine (Roman Ruler) and out of the Lyphmas mare Souriante, Es Aristocrático stands as the undisputed leader of the La Plata sprint division—and he’s far from done yet.
