Speed Will Take Center Stage on Saturday Over the Turf Straightaway, at San Isidro

The Clásico Ocurrencia (G3) and Clásico Propietarios (L) will be run, the former for mares 4-year-olds and up, and the latter for 3-year-olds

With the vast majority of conditional races transferred to the dirt track due to heavy conditions on the turf, Saturday's card at Hipódromo de San Isidro will lean its weight heavily upon the sprinters.

On one hand, the mares will clash in the Clásico Ocurrencia (G3), while shortly prior, the 3-year-old colts will line up in the Clásico Propietarios (L), both staged over 1,000 meters along the straightaway.

Old acquaintances will lock horns in the former, where each of the six runners confirmed possesses sufficient credentials to walk away with the trophy. When selecting a top pick, top honors fall upon Lissette Island from Córdoba as she aims to get back into the winner's enclosure.

The daughter of Lizard Island comes off a head defeat to Free Prize (Winning Prize) in the Clásico República de Panamá (G3) on the Palermo dirt; prior to that, however, she had put together three consecutive stakes wins, taking the Clásico General Arenales (G3), Clásico Olavarría (G3), and Clásico España (L).

In the Olavarría, she held off Forever Rim (Remote) by a half-neck, who then lost by a head to Enjoy Dancing (Hi Happy) in the Clásico Producción Nacional (L). All of them will cross paths once again on Saturday.

Yet the lineup does not end there: Sunny Frank (Gidu) previously won the Handicap Good Passion over the aforementioned Forever Rim, while Tartana Frank (Gidu) and Realizada Cat (Hurricane Cat) arrive in peak form off sharp conditional victories, fully prepared to throw down a challenge.

A short while earlier in the Propietarios, the field will offer a rematch of the Carreras de las Estrellas Junior Sprint (G3). On that afternoon, November Rain (Strategos) preserved his unbeaten record by lunging right at the wire to deny Listen (Le Blues) by a nose, with Nissos (Il Mercato) finishing third four lengths back.

November Rain has not raced since that day, whereas his two rivals have kept active. Listen made noise in maiden company by cruising to a dominant seven-length victory, while Nissos posted a solid effort in the Clásico Guillermo Paats (L) at Palermo, finishing a half-length runner-up to Aspiring Artist (Angiolo).

Also entered is Lunático Pass (Distinctiv Passion), who wasted no time exiting the maiden ranks; after placing second on debut, he rebounded immediately with a decisive victory and now steps up in class.
