In her very first performance representing her new stable, the talented daughter of Safety Check delivered a flawless display in the mile of the Handicap Pensilvania, showing her class over the turf course at Palermo

Splash Park (53 1/2 kg) could not have asked for a better first impression under the care of trainer Juan Saldivia. The bay, who had already shown flashes of quality in stakes company, captured the Handicap Pensilvania, the centerpiece of Monday's card at Hipódromo de Palermo, contested over a mile on the inner turf course.

The daughter of Safety Check had never competed over the distance before, but she handled it with complete comfort while finding an ideal partner in jockey Lucas González, with whom she had already tasted victory once before.

As Esperanza Eterna (Il Campione, 53 1/2 kg) set the early pace, Splash Park bided her time along the rail, saving ground. Once the field turned into the homestretch and, as is typical, the majority of the runners drifted outward, the eventual winner found a wide-open lane along the inside to draw on terms with the pacesetter.

At the 400-meter mark, it was time to put the race away. The Stud Aladino representative took command and opened up a decisive advantage. Launching a late challenge from further back and on the outside, Moon's Destiny (Orpen, 57 1/2 kg) made up some ground but had to settle for the runner-up spot, finishing 2 lengths behind Splash Park. Another length back, Una Gloria (Treasure Beach, 50 kg) completed the trifecta, with the clock stopping at 1m37.06s.

Bred by Haras Don Yayo and a half-sister to six winners, Splash Park secured her fifth career victory from just 12 starts as she continues to carve out her own space in the ranks. Having proved that the mile suits her perfectly, her connections can now look ahead with high expectations to future assignments in intermediate company, whether in handicaps, special weights, or minor stakes.
