Over the turf straightaway, the juveniles delivered standout victories, hinting that the best is yet to come

Friday’s card at San Isidro featured several 2-year-old races over 1000 meters on turf, showcasing impressive winners and once again highlighting the promising young sires who have made a strong start to their stud careers.
First up, after debuting with a fifth-place finish, Starry Bomb made a considerable leap forward to claim her first victory. Always positioned near the front, the filly started to pull away at the 300-meter mark, eventually defeating Arkansas City (Angiolo) by half a length, who paid the price for his debut.
A daughter of Hit It a Bomb and Starry Miss (Southern Halo), bred by Haras Firmamento and racing for Haras Altos de Godeken, Starry Bomb is trained by Omar Labanca and was ridden by Lautaro Balmaceda. Her time was 56.76 seconds.
Next came the colts, with a large field and a stellar debut performance from Salando Las Heridas, a colt from the Stud-Haras Ojos Claros—colors of Candy Ride (Ride the Rails). He made a terrific impression.
Quick out of the gate, he settled into second place while El Endiosado (Qué Vida Buena) set the pace. Midway through, Salando Las Heridas started to close in, took the lead with 300 meters to go, and powered through the final furlong with ease, crossing the wire three lengths ahead of his rival in a time of 56.21 seconds.
Part of the first crop of the sensational Strategos (Zensational), Salando Las Heridas is the first foal of Pura Bellota (Manipulator), a Group 3 winner, and is trained by Nicolás Martín Ferro.
Meanwhile, the filly division saw another successful debut, this time from Gata Frank, a daughter of the promising Gidu (Frankel), racing for Haras Gran Muñeca. With Brian Enrique aboard, the filly trained by Diego Peña showed plenty of promise.
She remained comfortably placed early, moved into contention around the halfway point, and from the 200-meter mark to the wire, she dominated, crossing the finish line two lengths clear of Teba (Mootasadir), in a time of 55.67 seconds, notably faster than the times posted by Starry Bomb and Salando Las Heridas.
Gata Frank is out of Gatita Rye (Catcher In the Rye), a stakes-winning sister to champion Joy Canela (Fortify).
