Turf racing takes center stage this Sunday at Palermo, with a new and highly competitive renewal of the Clásico Asociación de Propietarios de Caballos de Carrera (G3) over 1400 meters.

Several high-profile names are set to line up, with Haras Carampangue sending out a particularly strong duo in promising filly Stormy Summer (Nicholas) and the progressive Moon’s Destiny (Orpen), both well suited to the inner turf course at Avenida del Libertador and Dorrego.

Trained by Agustín Pavlovsky, Stormy Summer has won four of six starts, including three stakes victories. Her most recent success came in mid-February, when she captured the G2 Miguel Angel y Tomás Juárez Celman in convincing fashion, defeating Igual No Soy (John F Kennedy), who now looks for revenge.

Moon’s Destiny, meanwhile, arrives in peak form with three straight wins, highlighted by her narrow victory in the Clásico Farnesio, where she edged Filippiada (Il Mercato) by a neck—another contender set to reoppose.

Adding further depth is the talented Pecadora Joy (Fortify), third in the Juárez Celman and most recently runner-up, beaten two lengths by Blessed Shine (Honour Devil) in the Clásico Jamelao (L).

She won’t be the only representative for Haras Firmamento, as Harlan’s Rim (Remote) also lines up, bringing a two-race winning streak in allowance company.

There’s more to consider. At Rubio B., expectations are high for the improving Victoria Bayern (Santillano), who impressed carrying 59 kilos in the Handicap Ipe on dirt and now steps into much tougher company, albeit in excellent form.

And keep an eye on Mis Locuras (Manipulator), a mare with proven back class whose chances will hinge on how the race unfolds. If she gets too aggressive early, it may cost her late—but if Miguel O. Sosa can ration her speed, she could prove a serious factor.

With a strong blend of established performers and rising talent, the race promises to be as competitive as it is compelling on the Palermo turf.
