The daughter of Gidu won from wire to wire in the Handicap Good Passion, over very soft turf

A commanding show of authority was delivered by Sunny Frank this Friday over the heavy turf—though the official board read soft—at the Hipódromo de San Isidro, taking the Handicap Good Passion (1000 m) from wire to wire, a race held in memory of the grand mare who carried the colors of Haras San José del Socorro during her fantastic campaign.

Coming off a conditional victory, the daughter of Gidu took full advantage of her outside draw, seized the lead as soon as the gates opened, and opened up a clear advantage over her rivals, who never held or showed the slightest option to threaten her.

With Gonzalo Borda in her reins, defending the public's favoritism and carrying 56 kilos, she bounded toward the wire to finish 2 1/2 lengths ahead of Forever Rim (Remote, 58), who registered her third consecutive runner-up placement.

A girth back, Verdadera Pass (Distinctiv Passion, 53 1/2) completed the trifecta, all after a final time of 59s49/100, clear evidence of the demanding condition of the Jockey Club Argentino's main track.

Bred by Haras Gran Muñeca, racing under the silks of Stud Noetinger from Villa María, Córdoba, and under the conditioning of José BerasteguiSunny Frank is the third foal out of the stakes winner Sunshine Sea (Seattle Fitz), a sister to the G2 winner Super Shine (Super Saver), a group champion here and a graded-stakes placer when exported to the United States.
