The name Egg Toss defined an era in Argentine racing throughout the 1980s and ’90s. Imported by Haras La Biznaga, the Buckpasser son produced top-class runners across all distances and surfaces, leaving a lasting mark on pedigrees that continues to this day.

Though taken prematurely, the unforgettable bay will be honored Wednesday at Hipódromo de San Isidro with the Handicap Egg Toss, contested over 1800 meters on the auxiliary dirt track for horses four years old and up, with a purse of ARS 6,500,000.

With Yak Sport (Glory Seattle) ruled out, nine will contest the event, headlined by the rising Atomic Trigger (Cosmic Trigger, 57 1/2 kg) and the seasoned Super Inter (Super Saver, 60 kg), who carries top weight.

Atomic Trigger arrives on the back of two consecutive wins, most recently in Palermo’s Handicap Potrillazo, where he defeated Emergent (Il Campione) by a length over 1400 meters. The extra distance on Wednesday will be a notable step up.

Multiple stakes winner Super Inter, now seven, returns from a 110-day spell following a seventh-place finish in the Clásico Malvinas Argentinas (L). With his extensive experience, if fully fit, he will be a formidable rival.

Also coming in good form is El Bolivariano (Il Campione, 54 1/2 kg), lightly weighted, who most recently bested Quoz (Safety Check) and Stuven (Portal del Alto) in a conditional event and now faces a step up in class.

Further down the order are Tamarisco Scat (Knockout, 50 1/2 kg) and Atamor Beach (Treasure Beach, 54 1/2 kg), while Talento Emergente (Equal Talent, 54 kg) and Fanático Pincha (Bodemeister, 53 kg) are expected to improve. The remainder of the field includes Uqayr (Brz-Hat Trick, 53 kg) and Oro Nativo (Puerto Escondido, 54 1/2 kg), both looking to spring a surprise.
