Following a nearly 18-month drought, the Manipulator mare returned to top form to secure the Handicap Haras El Paraíso

After a drought lasting nearly 18 months, Tac-Tac (121 lbs.) returned to the winner's circle this Tuesday at La Plata. It took 19 starts for the Manipulator mare to regain her winning form, finally putting it all together over a sloppy track in the Handicap Haras El Paraíso, contested over approximately five and a half furlongs.
Following her victory in the Clásico Raúl Lottero (L) as a sophomore, the Stud Doctor S color-bearer has been a consistent presence in the stakes ranks, though success had remained elusive. She arrived at this spot following two uninspired sixth-place efforts in allowance ranks, causing the public to overlook her at the windows.
In a field thinned by scratches, Tac-Tac took command in the final furlong, drawing off to win by 2 lengths over the post-time favorite Maylena (Qué Vida Buena, 133 lbs.). The winner capitalized on a significant 12-pound weight advantage and a patient handling by Franco Menéndez.
Saddled by Jonathan Fredes, the 530-kilo (approx. 1,168 lbs.) mare proved that class is permanent. As she prepares to enter her five-year-old campaign, Tac-Tac reminded turfites that top-tier horses never truly forget how to win; they just need the right conditions and a bit of patience to find their way back to the winner's circle.
