Owned by Haras El Angel de Venecia, secured the Clásico Reconquista for the second consecutive year
SAN ISIDRO, Buenos Aires—If his comeback run had caught the eye, as clockers used to say, his performance this Friday over the turf course at Hipódromo de San Isidro confirmed those suspicions and invites big dreams for the future. Talented Hit captured the Clásico Reconquista (L-1400m) for the second consecutive season and looks primed to return to top-level mile events, where he first tested the waters back in 2025.
Carrying the demanding top weight of 61 kilos, and with the scratch of Tiffony Mo (El Moisés, 60) easing his path, the son of Hit It a Bomb bred by Haras Firmamento found the ideal setup.
Bluclette Rim (Remote, 58) and Río New (Hurricane Cat, 58) set a blistering pace on the front end, opening up several lengths on the field. Once they turned for home, both pacesetters began to tire, opening the door for Talented Hit, who launched a powerful stretch run from off the pace, taking control with ease and coasting home with plenty left in the tank.
The line found the Haras El Angel de Venecia runner 3 lengths clear of Capital Boss (Daniel Boone, 55 1/2)—a margin that could have been significantly wider had jockey Eduardo Ortega Pavón pushed the Carlos D. Etchechoury trainee to the wire. Another 5 lengths back, The Great Jazz (The Great Day) finished third, completing a 1-3 finish for Firmamento as breeder.
Out of Talented Girl (Speightstown), Talented Hit scored his sixth victory in 11 career starts, fully earning the right to target the premier middle-distance contests ahead.
His winning time was 1m24s75/100 over a turf course listed as normal.
