Jockey Gonzalo Borda, trainer Marcelo Sueldo, and Stud Pauli celebrated once again and boast a 60 percent efficiency rate this season

LA PLATA.- The numbers for jockey Gonzalo Borda, trainer Marcelo Sueldo, and Stud Pauli when playing as a team are impressive, rarely seen; and if it's at this city’s racetrack, even more so.
In 2026 alone, they have a 60 percent total efficiency rate, with 9 wins in 16 races run, but here that figure climbs to 70 percent, with the latest of those celebrations delivered this Thursday by Talento Emergente (54 kg.), the brave winner of the Especial Haras Firmamento (1,400 m, normal dirt), the most important race of the day.
The last six times the yellow and blue silks hit the track, the result was the same: first place, with 2 stakes races and the aforementioned Especial as part of a formidable harvest. It is no wonder the stable leads the owners' standings in its early stages.
Talento Emergente, coming off a conditional win just 18 days prior, was relentless in resolving the match during the final 200 meters—a duel he maintained practically from the start with G3 winner Notable Island (Lizard Island, 54), who showed a version much closer to the one that allowed him to be one of the best colts of his generation among the eucalyptus trees.
The two were always in front; in the early stages, they were accompanied by Buen Curuzucuateño (Buen Verso, 54), who abandoned the fight midway through the turn. From then on, the show centered on Talento Emergente and Notable Island, with the winner pulling away in the final furlong to defeat his rival by 1/2 length, while Buen Curuzucuateñocompleted the trifecta a distant 6 lengths back. All this followed a very strong time of 1:23.16, after fractions of 24.16, 46.77, and 1:10.84.
Bred by Mauro Castellazzi, the name behind Stud Pauli, Talento Emergente celebrated for the fifth time in 12 starts, marking his first victory of a hierarchical nature. His dam is the Brazilian Facegirl (Crimson Tide), who had already produced another generous runner like Guapo Again (Seek Again), who recently won by several lengths at Tampa Bay Downs, United States.
