Tarea Fácil seeks redemption in the Morales against undefeated Tardona

The daughter of Fortify drops down from G1 company seeking to regain the brilliance of her debut, while the Stud Paulientry chases her third consecutive victory

LA PLATA.- On the verge of entries closing for the Polla de Potrancas (G2), this afternoon will feature the Clásico Miguel Luis Morales (G2-1600m, dirt), the final prep toward the start of the Filly Triple Crown that was postponed a couple of weeks ago due to a low number of entries.

Strikingly, none of the key leaders from the division's early prep season will be in the starting gates. Many departed for other racing circuits given the meager purse money offered locally, while others, forced by the calendar shift, prioritized focusing on the upcoming grand event.

Though she will be making her local debut, Tarea Fácil offers plenty of credentials to position her at the top of the preference list. The daughter of Fortify drops down in class after coming up short in the Grade 1 Gran Premio Jorge de Atucha (G1) and Gran Premio de Potrancas (G1) at Palermo and San Isidro, respectively. However, it is worth remembering that her winning debut was a dominant display, drawing off by 5 lengths over La Agostinelli (Tetaze), who would later graduate with ease in downtown Buenos Aires.

Standing in her path is the undefeated Tardona (Gidu), backed by the towering combination of trainer Marcelo Sueldo, jockey Gonzalo Borda, and Stud Pauli. The dark bay kicked off her career with a hard-fought maiden victory on the turf at San Isidro before shipping to La Plata to double up, prevailing by half a length over La Manteca (Equal Talent).

The latter will also line up in the gates today, and on the strength of that mentioned performance, she merits consideration as one of the prime contenders.

After an impressive maiden victory in her second start, Xurra (Forge) finished fourth, 4 1/2 lengths behind Tardona, running well below expectations. Now stretching out to the mile—that previous race was over 1400 meters—her connections hope to see her make a significant leap forward in class.

Missing You (Señor Candy) arrives after breaking her maiden by 3/4 of a length and now steps up into stakes company, while the maiden Invisible Scape (Cityscape) will attempt to make her presence felt and earn a breakthrough first victory on the big stage.
