This was confirmed by his trainer, John Sadler, following his latest workout, where he clocked 1000 meters in 59.20 seconds

The presence of Full Serrano in the upcoming edition of the Pegasus World Cup (G1) is beginning to take concrete shape and is already generating special expectations, not only due to the prestige of the event but also because of what it represents for the recent history of Argentine racing on the international stage. The 2024 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner at Del Mar completed a solid 1,000-meter workout in 59.20 seconds a few days ago, leaving an excellent impression ahead of his participation in the race to be held on January 24 at Gulfstream Park.
“He sat behind a horse from another stable and finished the work very well. It was a demanding exercise, the kind that counts,” explained his trainer John Sadler, who practically confirmed the path: “I would say we are heading to the Pegasus. We are clearly moving in that direction.”
The son of Full Mast has not competed since November 1, when he finished fifth in the 2025 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, also at Del Mar, against a very tough field.
His eventual presence in the Pegasus would make him one of the central figures in a race celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, contested over 1,800 meters with a $3,000,000 purse, within a spectacular program that includes 10 stakes races, 7 of them graded, totaling $5,550,000 in prize money.
For Argentine racing, the news has a special flavor: so far, the only horse born in our country to run in the Pegasus World Cup was Eragon (Offlee Wild) in the inaugural 2017 edition, when he finished last in a race that made history due to the track record set by Arrogate (Unbridled's Song). Now, 9 years later, Full Serrano could become the second Argentine representative to step onto the most glamorous stage of the American winter.
The list of invitees for this edition of the Pegasus is, as always, high-impact. In recent days, the inclusion of Madaket Road (Quality Road), a 5-time graded stakes placer, was confirmed; he will take the place of the recently retired Goal Oriented (Not This Time) in Bob Baffert’s team. The Hall of Fame trainer already knows what it’s like to win this race: he did so with Arrogate in 2017, Mucho Gusto (Mucho Macho Man) in 2020, and National Treasure (Quality Road) in 2024.
Among the major protagonists announced are Tappan Street (Into Mischief), winner of the 2025 Florida Derby (G1)over the then-formidable Sovereignty (Into Mischief); the undefeated Disco Time (Not This Time), trained by Brad Cox; and the millionaire White Abarrio (Race Day), who is coming off a victory in the last edition by a record 6 1/4 lengths. Joining them is Skippylongstocking (Exaggerator), who will seek an unprecedented feat: competing in the Pegasus for the fourth consecutive time, boasting a career of 12 victories and nearly $3.8 million in earnings.
Within this constellation of stars, Full Serrano appears with his own credentials. A Breeders’ Cup winner and already proven among the elite, his presence would provide the Pegasus with an extra ingredient of interest for the South American public, which closely follows every step of the horse since his consecration at Del Mar.
The invitation list is completed by a group of heavyweight names such as Banishing (Ghostzapper), Poster (Munnings), Captain Cook (Practical Joke), Touchuponastar (Star Guitar), and Mika (Catholic Boy), while Doc Sullivan (Solomini) is listed as the first alternate.
Expectation grows day by day, but everything indicates that the path is set: Full Serrano is heading toward the Pegasus World Cup, with the dream of writing a new page for the Argentine flag in one of the most impactful races on the world calendar.
