The Casey and Casares form a very interesting doubleheader of stakes races

They will be contested next Sunday over the main track at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, with three additional handicaps scheduled during the week

While the biggest classical action next week will take place at Hipódromo de San Isidro, with the Gran Premio Jockey Club (G1) card, Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo will also host significant races on its program.

On Sunday, October 5, a very interesting double classical feature is set, led by the Clásico Eduardo Casey (G2-2200 m, dirt), accompanied by the Clásico Vicente L. Casares (G3-2500 m, dirt)—the first for three-year-old colts, the second for all horses four and older. Additionally, the Handicap APHARA (1200 m, dirt), for winners aged four and up, will add further quality to the card.

As the final major prep toward the Gran Premio Nacional (G1), the Casey highlights Blue Caviar (Equal Stripes), fresh off a win in the Clásico Coronel Miguel F. Martínez (G3, 1800 m).

The full list of 16 entries for the Casey also includes: Altimus (Equal Stripes), Cazador de Areco (Long Island Sound), Friends are Friends (Cityscape), Genio Genio (Equal Stripes), Herald News (Equal Stripes), Hi Dolfi (Hi Happy), In the Island (In the Dark), Irish Coffee (Fortify), Nevado Catedral (Gouverneur Morris), Piu (Leofric), Prince Ride (Reride), See You (Fortify), Speedmaster (Fortify), The Guantecito (Treasure Beach), and Uncle Moi (Uncle Mo).

The Casares drew just five entries, led by Treasure Island (Treasure Beach, G1)Billion (Galicado), Demostrame (Endorsement), Endor Rye (Endorsement), and Valle Barun (Vástago Salvaje) complete the field.

Regarding the Handicap Aphara, it has 15 entrants, with Despacito (Sabayón) assigned topweight of 61 kilos, one kilo above the next in line, Sonreime (Orpen).

The Buenos Aires week will kick off on Friday, October 3, highlighted by the Handicap Star and Stripes (1400 m, dirt), for mares aged four and up, where Aiyanna (Santillano) will carry the topweight of 59.5 kilos.

Meanwhile, on Monday, October 6, the Handicap Alfonso L. Salvati (1000 m, dirt) for mares five and older will feature Rare Humor (Distorted Humor) with the maximum assignment of 58 kilos, half a kilo above Beau Breeze (AP Candy).
