LA PLATA.- The racetrack in this city has set its course for its upcoming meetings, scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 20 and Thursday, Jan. 22.

The feature race of the period will take place on the first of those days: the Clasico Luis Monteverde (L), set at 1400 meters for fillies and mares 3 years old and up under weight-for-age conditions.

A field of 11 was entered, highlighted by the probable presence of Guadilu (Señor Candy), Jalimba (Señor Candy), and La Paltrow (Hurricane Cat). Also in the mix are: Belle Chanson (In the Dark), Finikas (Angiolo), Frape (Vástago Salvaje), Jessie's Girl (Cima de Triomphe), Melancólica (Grand Reward), Miss Ward (Mister Tin), Rare Spun (Lucullan), and Vida Bohemia (Winning Prize).

The same card features the Especial República de Paraguay (1400m, dirt) for mares 4 years old and up with a minimum of 3 wins. It remains inexplicable why two such similar events share the same program.

The probable lineup includes: Belle Chanson (54), City Land (Lizard Island, 56), Expert Advice (Il Campione, 56), Filippiada (Il Mercato, 52), Full of Queens (Daniel Boone, 52), Grand Sara Jet (Grand Reward, 54), Inside Dancer (Cima de Triomphe, 52), Jalimba (56), La Paltrow (52), Nipotina (Treasure Beach, 52), Puerta Plateada (Puerto Escondido, 52), Queen's Reward (Grand Reward, 52), Red Chilly (Il Mercato, 52), Storm Revenge (Storm Mayor, 54), and Tac-Tac (Manipulator, 52).

On Tuesday, Jan. 22, the highlight at Hipódromo de La Plata will be the Especial República de Panamá, a 1000-meter sprint for mares 4 years old and up with at least 3 wins.

Among the 10 entries, the high weight of 60 kilos was assigned to Doña Chila (Peten Itza), who could face: Gran Celestial (Il Mercato, 52), Jaque Mate Sar (Sardinero, 52), Maylena (Qué Vida Buena, 56), Nina Ride (Señor Candy, 52), Qué Buena B (Qué Vida Buena, 52), Ronsina Remota (Remote, 52), Señorita Ambar (Señor Candy, 52), Una Felicidad (In the Dark, 56), and Grand Sara Jet (54).

Declarations and jockey assignments are due by Monday at 11:00 a.m., with final programs to be released that afternoon.
