The Clásico Correas Takes Center Stage During Palermo’s Encuentros Provinciales Week

The long-distance feature for fillies and mares will be run this Friday, sharing the card with the Clásico Diamond Jubilee

Programs for next week at the Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo have been finalized, with racing scheduled for Friday, July 11, Sunday, July 13, and Monday, July 14.

The highlight will come on the first of those days, with an attractive stakes doubleheader headlined by the Clásico Ignacio, Ignacio F. e Ignacio Correas (G2, 2500m, dirt) for fillies and mares four and up, and the Clásico Diamond Jubilee (1000m, dirt), open to horses aged four and older.

A field of eight has been confirmed for the prestigious long-distance CorreasAngelic Champ (Cima de Triomphe), Ceniza Pampa (Hat Ninja), Contrast (Safety Check), Flavie (Seahenge), Olimpia de Epiro (Southern Cat), Persofona(Hurricane Cat), Punta Turquesa (Fortify), and Risible (Orpen) are set to line up.

Meanwhile, ten sprinters will face the starter almost at the far end of the Olleros chute for the Diamond JubileeAires de Gloria (Angiolo), Azucar Negro (Angiolo), Bailarín de Venecia (Angiolo), Cerrito Piñón (Manipulator), El Mejor Recuerdo (Il Campione), Land of Promise (Le Blues), Pan y Circo (Qué Vida Buena), Príncipe Soñado (Fragotero), Say It Fast (Cosmic Trigger), and Vida Amorosa (Safety Check).

On Sunday, attention will shift to the Encuentro Provincial Invierno stakes (1000m, dirt), held in divisions for three-year-olds and for horses four and up. The three-year-old version will be run in two divisions, while the older horse segment had to be split into three races due to strong entries.

Finally, Monday’s July 14 program will be headlined by the Handicap Pensilvania, contested over 1400 meters on dirt for five-year-old and up winning mares.

Twelve names have been confirmed, with topweight of 60.5 kilos assigned to Viva Al Sur (South Kissing), who will carry half a kilo more than both Aiyanna (Santillano) and Brugge (Grand Reward).

The lineup also includes: Potri Pop (Bodemeister, 51.5), Mi Negra Paula (Reflecting, 56), Blessed Shine (Honour Devil, 55), Holy Valley (Homage, 54.5), Vengan y Vean (Manipulator, 53.5), Ataka (Señor Candy, 57.5), Furiosa Vis(Furious Key, 53.5), Victoria Bayern (Santillano, 55), and La Bombonera (Portal del Alto, 54).
