A couple of seasons ago, the Carreras de las Estrellas incorporated two non-graded stakes into their schedule that are always contested on the dirt track.

The Estrellas Dirt Junior (1300 m, dirt) and the Estrellas Dirt (1300 m, dirt), each offering a purse of 20,000,000 pesos, will provide the perfect frame for Friday's card at the Hipódromo de San Isidro. The former is reserved for 2-year-olds that have not raced at the San Isidro, Palermo, or La Plata racetracks, while the latter is open to mares 3 years old and up.

Looking ahead to the Dirt Junior, three defections from the original list leave a field of nine runners: Alabama Blues (Hi Happy), Barbarian (Qué Vida Buena), Campuripim (Gouverneur Morris), El Bosque (Il Campione), El Chavito(Made You Look), Full Swayed (Full Mast), Harry El Sucio (Daniel Boone), Viuvinho (Manipulator), and Vivir En Paz (Fortify).

Meanwhile, the Dirt attracted a promising lineup of no less than 14 contenders: Bella María (Cosmic Trigger), Candy Universe (Señor Candy), Emisora Mundial (Santillano), Emprestada (Cosmic Trigger), Happy Star (Fortify), Indomable (Hi Happy), Isolation (Suggestive Boy), Legítima Blan (Equal Legítimo), Lessons of Life (Le Blues), Ma Perque (Cosmic Trigger), Naimabad (Il Campione), Naja (Fortify), Starry Bomb (Hit It a Bomb), and Victoria Bayern (Santillano).

Both races will serve as the perfect appetizer before the Gran Premio Estrellas Junior Sprint (G3), Gran Premio Estrellas Juvenile (G1), and the Gran Premio Estrellas Juvenile Fillies (G1), warming up the atmosphere this Friday in the northern venue.
