Now that they have begun, auctions in Argentina are not slowing down. This Wednesday, a major reduction sale for Haras Aitué was held, with Al Adiyaat as a guest consignor, and the market continued its tough streak—a preview of what could be a difficult year amidst an economy that has yet to stabilize and a challenging moment for the racing industry, which faces permanent downsizing, rock-bottom purses, and skyrocketing costs.

Under the hammer of Agencia Fallow, broodmares, 2024 yearlings, and 2025 foals were offered. The top price went to a unique mare: the English-bred Endless Dream, a daughter of Oasis Dream whose granddam, Rainbow Lake (Rainbow Quest), is none other than the maternal sister of Kind (Danehill)—a good runner herself, but above all, the dam of the peerless Frankel (Galileo), considered by many to be one of the greatest horses of all time.

Consigned by Al Adiyaat and already the producer of the double-winner Keep Dreaming, she was offered with a confirmed pregnancy to the excellent Dabster (Curlin), reaching a final bid of US$ 12,000 from the Uruguayan stud Haras Cuatro Cabezas. It was striking how little local breeders intervened to secure such a rare bloodline at a price that was far from outrageous.

The second-highest mark was for the American broodmare Guild, a 13-year-old bay daughter of the notable Medaglia d'Oro, offered by Haras Aitué with a confirmed pregnancy to Treasure Beach (Galileo). With one winning offspring and a maternal family featuring G1 winner State of Rest (Starspangledbanner), she reached US$ 7,500, sold to Orbit Bloodstock. It should be noted that the mare was sold without her foal, which was offered separately.

The podium for the highest prices was completed by another Aitué broodmare, Honey Girl, a Not for Sale daughter and winner of 3 races at La Plata, in foal to Marsalis (Curlin). Hailing from one of the best families in Argentine turf—that of Chaldee (Banner Sport), the formidable foundation mare of La Madrugada—she reached US$ 7,400.

Also noteworthy in the final balance was Batrana (Cape Cross), an Al Adiyaat mare in foal to Dabster, for whom Haras Cuatro Cabezas ended up bidding US$ 7,000.
