Juan Carlos Bagó’s nursery is offering a significant lot of broodmares and 2024 fillies, featuring their most popular pedigrees

For nearly 50 years, Haras Firmamento has developed an enviable genetic foundation, the kind any breeder would aspire to own. This Tuesday, the nursery owned by Juan Carlos Bagó will hold a Mixed Sale in a fully virtual format, offering the chance to acquire portions of the pedigrees that have dazzled the industry for decades.
Organized by Antonio Bullrich SA and scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m., the auction features 28 broodmares (one retired from training), an extensive lot of 2024 fillies, and Song Joy (Fortify) as a stallion prospect.
The group of producers includes daughters of Roman Ruler, Not for Sale, Catcher In the Rye, War Front, Easing Along, Southern Halo, Van Nistelrooy, Thunder Gulch, and Mastercraftsman, among others. They are in foal to The Great Day (Harlan's Holiday), Slow Down Andy (Nyquist), and Santin (Distorted Humor).
Highlighting the catalog is the G3-winning mare Grand Coquette (Grand Slam), dam of stakes winners Mister Coquette(Bodemeister) and Altazor (Mastercraftsman). She is offered with a confirmed pregnancy to The Great Day. Also featured is Opium Ruler (Roman Ruler), dam of stakes winner Opi Nails (Remote), and the multiple stakes-winning Perugia Gulch (Thunder Gulch), expecting a foal by Slow Down Andy.
The 2024 fillies represent sires such as The Great Day, Emotion Orpen, Hit It a Bomb, Hi Happy, Daniel Boone, and Sixties Song, stemming from Firmamento’s elite maternal lines including those of Cara y Linda, Mucura, Perugia, and Mi Quimera.
