Winner of the Florida Derby and a son of Curlin, he has just produced his first stakes-winning offspring, in his second generation

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay (Special for Turf Diario).– Uruguay will add a new international incorporation to its breeding industry when Known Agenda, a G1 winner and son of the extraordinary Curlin (Smart Strike), moves at the end of the current Northern Hemisphere breeding season to join the recently created Haras La Peregrina in Maldonado, as indicated by The Blood-Horse.
The operation, confirmed by various sources linked to the stallion market, will allow the sire to continue his career in South America after starting his trajectory at the prestigious Spendthrift Farm in Kentucky.
Bred by St. Elias Stable and trained during his campaign by Todd Pletcher, Known Agenda developed a short but outstanding performance on the tracks. After finishing third in the Remsen Stakes (G2) at 2 years old, he reached his stakes consecration by capturing the Florida Derby (G1) in 2021, a result that placed him among the main candidates for the American Triple Crown.
Subsequently, he finished fourth in the Belmont Stakes (G1) and closed his campaign with a record of 3 victories, one second, and one third-place finish in just eight presentations, accumulating earnings of US$ 641,700.
From a genetic point of view, his profile is especially attractive. In addition to being a son of Curlin, two-time Horse of the Year in the United States and one of the most influential sires of today, his dam is Byrama (Byron), winner of the Vanity Handicap (G1) and a top-level placer in events such as the Madison Stakes (G1) and the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes (G1).
In stud, Known Agenda has begun to show encouraging signs. So far, he has produced 38 winners and has just achieved his first stakes victor thanks to Squad Goals, who this past June 15 conquered the Tom Ridge Stakes (L) at Presque Isle Downs. Also figuring among his best offspring is Wembley Avenue, third in the Grey Stakes (G3) at Woodbine.
