Haras San Benito secured the daughter of Cityscape for US$ 40,000, while the G1 winner Lágrimas y Sonrisas reached 31,000 dollars

BUENOS AIRES—The G2 winner Linda Isabelle (Cityscape) reached the session-topping price this Tuesday during the Breeding Stock Sale, organized in a virtual format by the firm Blacktype Bloodstock. Consigned by Haras El Angel de Venecia, the daughter of Cityscape was acquired for US$ 40,000 (payable in 10 installments) by Haras San Benito.
Out of Harlan's Fantástica (Harlan's Holiday), the bay mare was a four-time winner at age three between San Isidro and Palermo, including victories in the Clásico Miguel Angel y Tomás Juárez Celman (G2) and the Clásico Ricardo, Ezequiel y Ezequiel M. Fernández Guerrico (G2). She was offered with a confirmed pregnancy to Roman Joy (Fortify).
The market remained selective, showing intense interest in strong producers while heavily discounting lower-quality lots, a consistent trend observed in all broodmare auctions held so far this season.
Another high mark was set by Lágrimas y Sonrisas (Le Blues), the 2023 winner of the Gran Premio Selección de Potrancas (G1) at La Plata, who was part of the Haras Comalal dispersal. Currently empty (sold with a 2026 service right to Remote), she was purchased for US$ 31,000 by Diego Zabaleta.
The podium of highest prices was completed by Moyvore Rose (City Banker), also from Haras Comalal, which went to Hernán Gasibe (on commission) for 26,000 dollars. A winner of the Clásico Juan Shaw (G2) and a full sister to G2 winners Moon of the City and Star of the City, she was sold empty with a service right to Remote.
Not far behind, the gray Bavarian Girl (Zensational) from La Providencia, a stakes winner in calf to the generous Hat Ninja, was bought for 25,000 dollars by Haras Niju. Meanwhile, O. K. Angie (Orpen), the dam of Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini (G1) winner The Punisher (Cityscape), was hammered down to Haras Las Retamas for 24,000 dollars.
