The mile and sprint features on May 1 promise top-class spectacles; El Exito has been withdrawn and will not attempt the three-peat

The Gran Premio República Argentina (G1) festival will feature two outstanding races in the Gran Premio de las Américas – OSAF (G1-1600m, dirt) and the Gran Premio Ciudad de Buenos Aires (G1-1000m, dirt), bringing together the vast majority of the division leaders at a mile and in sprinting, respectively.
Despite the notable absence of El Exito (Il Campione), who had the chance to win the race for a third consecutive time, the Gran Premio de las Américas – OSAF still assembled an exceptional group of 11 runners, including recently crowned champions Earth God (Cosmic Trigger) and Drive Joy (Fortify).
Also confirmed are Gardel Pass (Distinctiv Passion), latest winner of the Gran Premio Polla de Potrillos (G1), along with Nevado Catedral (Gouverneur Morris) and G1 winner Comando Secreto (War Command), who recently finished first and second in a tight edition of the Clásico Benito Villanueva (G2). Multiple graded winner Qué Tarde Gris (Il Campione) will also line up.
Escape Room (Il Campione), Majority Wins (Master of Hounds), Mio Fratello (Long Island Sound), Storm Sound (Hi Happy), and Vampiro Zen (Zensational) further strengthen what shapes as a tremendous field.
The winner of the Gran Premio de las Américas – OSAF (G1) will earn 40,000,000 pesos.
Meanwhile, the Gran Premio Ciudad de Buenos Aires (G1) promises another clash of stars, with most attention centered on the renewed showdown between champions Le Cornette (Emmanuel) and Labrado (Le Blues).
Le Cornette arrives off three dominant consecutive victories down the straight course at Palermo, while Labrado made a strong impression when capturing the Clásico General Viamonte (G3) in mid-February over the turf at San Isidro.
El Epecuen (Il Campione), who defeated Le Cornette in the Gran Premio Maipú (G1), is another key contender, along with Rosario-based El Mejor Recuerdo (Il Campione), the defending champion in the Ciudad de Buenos Aires.
Azúcar Negro (Angiolo), Claro Key (Claro Oscuro), Contra Pronóstico (Daddy Long Legs), Lo Straniero (Manipulator), Naranccello (Le Blues), Primer Amor (Manipulator), Ruler Man (Lenovo), Stormy West (In the Dark), and Vendaval Joy (Roman Joy) complete a field of 14 runners.
