The Haras Abolengo Annual Broodmare Sale comes to a close this Thursday

Held entirely online, the farm will offer 28 broodmares featuring outstanding pedigrees and attractive coverings

As Argentina’s busy auction season continues in full swing, Thursday will bring the Haras Abolengo Annual Broodmare Sale, where pre-bidding is already underway. Organized by (Arg) Sales and conducted entirely online, the auction features a catalog of 28 mares, with the live closing session beginning at 6 p.m.

Daughters of Equal Stripes (Candy Stripes), Grand Reward (Storm Cat), Exchange Rate (Danzig), Catcher In the Rye (Danehill), Treasure Beach (Galileo), Hurricane Cat (Storm Cat), Long Island Sound (War Front), Lizard Island (Danehill Dancer), Orpen (Lure), Daniel Boone (Wild Event), Daddy Long Legs (Scat Daddy), Not for Sale (Parade Marshal), Editor’s Note (Forty Niner), Sunray Spirit (Hennessy), John F Kennedy (Galileo), and Japan (Medaglia d’Oro) will be offered in foal to Ivar (Agnes Gold), Daddy Long Legs, Cosmic Trigger (Lizard Island), Verifying (Justify), Pneumatic (Uncle Mo), and Treasure Beach (Galileo).

One of the standout attractions—and current leader in the pre-bidding—is Infanta Bonita (Equal Stripes x Infanta Elena, by Lizard Island). Unraced herself, she is a full sister to G1 winner Infartame and G2 winner Issa, and sells in foal to Daddy Long Legs, with a last service date of August 13. From the famed “I” family, she is closely related to recent successful names such as champion Il Mercato (Not for Sale) and G2 winner Portal Maya (Portal del Alto), among others.

Also drawing strong attention is the exceptional pedigree of Amiguita Star (Grand Reward x Yankee Star, by Southern Halo), a maternal sister to champion Todo Un Amiguito (Mutakddim) and G1 winner Mi Amiguito (Indygo Shiner), offered in foal to Cosmic Trigger.

Another highly appealing prospect is Earth Song (Long Island Sound), a winner at San Isidro at three and carrying a foal by Daddy Long Legs. She is also a maternal sister to reigning Champion Miler Earth God (Cosmic Trigger).

Supported by the famed family of Candy Ride (Ride the Rails), Candella Star (Equal Stripes)—in foal to Daddy Long Legs—will also pass through the virtual ring, while Ilusión Pampa (Exchange Rate), sister to G2 winner Indec (Halo Sunshine) and carrying a foal by champion Ivar, is another of the catalog’s highlights.

The sale will be conducted under terms of 12 installments in U.S. dollars.
