BENSALEM, Philadelphia (Special for Turf Diario).— With a steady stride and the hallmark of a lineage that knows no borders, Ivy Girl achieved her first black-type victory by winning the Main Line Stakes (L) at Parx Racing. The bay filly, who had been gaining experience on the demanding ovals of Aqueduct and Laurel Park, found in the change of scenery and the addition of blinkers the necessary spark to confirm what her pedigree suggested: plenty of class for the stakes level.

Guided by Mychel Sanchez, the Lucky Hat Racing LLC filly stayed out of the early speed duel set by Courage On Tap(Tapiture), while the favorite Halo Hottie (Mendelssohn) followed closely. After fractions of 24s 35/100 and 49s 57/100, the daughter of Maxfield began to gain ground along the inside. Although the leader seemed unreachable upon entering the homestretch, the persistence of the granddaughter of the Argentine mare Critikola paid off in the final stride, successfully breaking her rival's resistance to win with authority. Law School (Mitole) completed the trifecta in a finish that rewarded the winner's stamina.

Beyond the success on the track, Ivy Girl’s victory resonates strongly in these latitudes. She is the second stakes winner for Maxfield, a high-profile stallion who stood at Haras Firmamento during the last two seasons, generating logical expectations in local breeding. However, it is in her maternal line where the story takes on an epic tone. Her dam, Critikal Reason (Aptitude), had already proven her value as the producer of the stakes winner Bajan (Speightstown), but the foundation of this family tree rests on the unforgettable Critikola.

The daughter of Tough Critic, who shone on Argentine tracks before becoming a multiple G1-placed runner in the United States, transformed into a legendary broodmare. She is the dam of Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Lemons Forever (Lemon Drop Kid), who in turn produced champion Forever Unbridled (Unbridled's Song) and G1 winner Unbridled Forever (Unbridled's Song), among other notable offspring.

With Ivy Girl's success, the blood of the Argentine star once again claims its place in the winner's circle, proving that the quality of national breeding continues to cast its winning shadow over northern turf racing.
