The Pollas have confirmed their runners, with lower-than-expected final fields

Seven 3-year-old colts and eight 3-year-old fillies will line up for the opening legs of the 2026 Argentine Triple Crown; meanwhile, the Gran Premio General San Martín (G1) suffered no scratches, with nine stayers promising a great spectacle on the turf

The Gran Premio Polla de Potrillos (G1-1,600 m, dirt) and Gran Premio Polla de Potrancas (G1-1,600 m, dirt), the races that next Saturday will mark the start of the Triple Crown at Hipódromo Palermo, now have their fields confirmed.

Only 7 colts and 8 fillies will step onto the main Buenos Aires track to battle for some of the most coveted trophies in national racing, marking the lowest field sizes in many years. The card will also feature another top-level event, the Gran Premio General San Martín (G1-2,400 m, turf), an exceptional clash for stayers that will bring the Palermo de Oro Verde Championship to a close.

With three scratches from its initial entry list, the Polla de Potrillos features a formidable favorite in Fletcher(Gershwin), winner of the Clásico Pedro Goenaga (G2) at La Plata and fresh off an impressive performance to claim the Clásico Miguel Cané (G2) under the exact conditions that await him now.

In his path stand two of the top 3-year-olds from La Plata: Autorretrato (Angiolo) and Los Llanos (Le Blues), who finished 1-3 in the southern track's version of the Polla. The latter, moreover, arrives after filling the same third-place spot just a few hours ago in the Clásico José Pedro Ramírez (G3).

Cavaradossi (Señor Candy), the maiden Buin (Daddy Long Legs), El Volka (Vekoma), and Linguado (Cosmic Trigger) complete the field.

Among the fillies, two scratches were recorded, leaving eight confirmed runners led by Gran Gotera (Made You Look), the heavy candidate for Champion 2-Year-Old Filly honors. She returns to action after sweeping the Gran Premio Jorge de Atucha (G1) and Gran Premio de Potrancas (G1) at Palermo and San Isidro, respectively.

The chestnut filly from Stud Tinta Roja skipped the Carreras de las Estrellas as she was not nominated to the series, and has been pointed specifically toward this spot, where she will clash with the undefeated Robate Un Beso (Uncle Chuck), recent winner of the Clásico General Luis María Campos (G2).

Candy Unica (Señor Candy), winner of the Clásico Manuel J. Güiraldes (G3); Hi Intense (Hi Happy), fresh off a victory in the Clásico Bayakoa (L) on the San Isidro turf; La Santa Cándida (Le Blues), recent winner of the Clásico Marina Lezcano on the Jockey Club grass; Look At To Me (Dabster), runner-up in the Campos; and Tardona (Gidu), second in the Clásico Miguel Luis Morales (G2), will also line up in the starting gate.

As for the Gran Premio General San Martín, no scratches were reported, leaving a field of nine contenders.

The return of Neat Colt (Treasure Beach) was confirmed, following his surprise victory at the end of June in the Gran Premio Estrellas Classic (G1) over 2,000 meters on the San Isidro turf.

Opposing him will be Out of the Blue (Drosselmeyer) and Equal Mostaza (Equal Stripes), respective winners of the Clásico Chacabuco (G2) and Clásico Comparación (G2), having narrowly defeated each other in those encounters.

The San Martín features another G1 winner in The Gladiator's Hat (Hat Trick), hero of the most recent Gran Premio Dardo Rocha (G1), third this season in the Gran Premio Latinoamericano (G1) at Monterrico in Peru, and coming off a third-place finish in the aforementioned Comparación.

Also a graded stakes winner, Time to Think (Seahenge) will attempt to rediscover his top form, while Mozo de Bar(Bodemeister) steps back up to the highest level following a successful return from a long absence.

The rising Cazador de Areco (Long Island Sound), Full Keynote (Full Mast), and stakes winner Santo Rey(Santillano) round out a highly competitive line-up.
