Following the great Gran Premio República Argentina (G1) card, and while awaiting the May 25 meeting, the country's main racetracks will regain their usual rhythm, offering a couple of stakes races in the coming days.

The possible return of Colifato Novo (Lenovo) will be the main attraction of the period. The Champion 2-Year-Old of his generation is one of the 11 entries received for the Clásico Southern Halo (G3-1400 m, turf), to be held next Sunday at the Hipódromo de San Isidro.

Nothing seems like it will be easy for the Stud El Ranquel representative, who has not raced since mid-February when he took the Clásico Horacio Bustillo (G2), following his previous victory in the Clásico Invasor (G3). Among his possible adversaries appears Gardel Pass (Distinctiv Passion), hero of last season's Gran Premio Polla de Potrillos(G1), who comes off a last-place finish this past Friday in the Gran Premio de las Américas - OSAF (G1).

Cosmic Stripes (Cosmic Trigger), El Ernesto (Señor Candy), El Gazpacho (Bodemeister), Envidioso Frank (Gidu), Liberto (Hurricane Cat), Río New (Hurricane Cat), Royal Rimout (Remote), Stormy River (Le Blues), and Viejo Varieté (Qué Vida Buena) are the other probables.

On Wednesday the 13th, meanwhile, the main event will be the Especial Seductor (2000 m, dirt), for mares 5 years old and up with 3 or more wins, where Reina Casada (Long Island Sound) is the reference among the seven that appeared on the list.

At the Hipódromo de Palermo, there will be racing on Saturday the 9th and Monday the 11th, with the most important turn of the week scheduled for the first of those dates. This is the Clásico Círculo de Propietarios de Caballerizas SPC(G3), set over 1600 meters on the dirt for mares 3 years old and up.

It is an open outlook among the seven nominees, led by Blessed Shine (Honour Devil) and Gigantografía(Bodemeister). The brief roster is completed by: Casa Pueblo (Strategos), Duffy (Il Mercato), Increpante (Sigfrid), Lancara (Manipulator), and Souq (Forge).

Regarding the Monday the 11th card, the most significant event will be the Handicap British Empire (1200 m) for winning mares 4 years old and up. The top weight of 61 kilos was assigned to Ataka (Señor Candy), one above the weight assigned to Bichita de Luz (Fragotero).
