After several weeks, the colts will face a new stakes challenge, while the fillies head out in search of a new leader

LA PLATA.— After several weeks and multiple cancellations, the racetrack in this city has confirmed a stakes race for colts. With the Luis María Doyhenard (G3) out of the picture, Tuesday, May 5, will feature the Asociación de Propietarios de Caballos de Carrera de Buenos Aires (G3-1,400m, dirt), where victory will require more than just precocity.
Seven runners will participate, a list that includes Chichipío (Grand Reward), who has been leading the selection process here with two black-type victories. On his path, he will face: Full Lujoso (Full Mast), El Pecadito (Cima de Triomphe), El Furtivo (Lucullan), El Pirata (Il Campione), Los Llanos (Le Blues), and Arc Village (Puerto Escondido).
The stakes action that day will be a double feature, as the Especial Mad Corsaria (1,200m, dirt) will also be contested for mares 4 years old and up with three or more wins. Among eight names, Nashville Blue (Nashville Texan, 56), Empress Life (Legión de Honor), Save Your Tears (Full Mast), and Winning Wind (Endorsement) will share the top weight of 56 kilos.
Previously, on Sunday, May 3, the fillies will face a new step in their selection process, which seeks a new leader following the departure of Gota Clara Sos (Made You Look) to the main metropolitan tracks. Thus, the Andrés S. Torres (G3-1,400m, dirt) will feature: Unica Forma (Full Mast), Bendita Suerte (Seahenge), Inter Bombaza (Hit It a Bomb), Candy Unica (Señor Candy), Salema (Il Mercato), and Amiguita Casual (Todo Un Amiguito).
On that same date, the Especial Snow Gambler (1,000m, dirt) will also be decided for all horses 4 years old and up with three or more victories, where Cántaros Song (Alcindor) will carry the top weight of 56 kilos.
The week at La Plata will conclude on Friday, May 8, with the Especial Forli (1,700m, dirt) and the Especial Inter Red(1,400m, dirt). The former is for horses 5 years old and up, while the latter is for 4-year-olds and up, both requiring a minimum of three wins.
Fancy Model (Lizard Island, 58) will carry the top weight in the tribute to the unforgettable champion; meanwhile, in the Inter Red, among the seven confirmed runners, the highest handicap was assigned to the recovered Arcanum (Horse Greeley) with 56 kilos.
Stakes to look forward to and several specials comprise the upcoming menu in the "City of Diagonals."
