MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay (Special for TDN).- The second session of Haras El Santo’s Dispersal Sale will take place this Thursday, following today’s scheduled sale of broodmares. This phase will feature a high-quality group of 2024 foals, three 2023 foals, and the stallion Sonic Mule (Distorted Humor).
Organized by Walter H. Abelenda Negocios Rurales, with the collaboration of Pablo Núñez Remates, the virtual auction is set to begin once again at 7:00 p.m.
The weanling selection includes progeny of Sonic Mule, as well as the outstanding Sloane Avenue (Candy Ride) and Texas Fever (Victory Gallop). Pre-bidding activity has been intense, with some standout names attracting significant interest.
Among the most coveted prospects is Tequila Fever (Texas Fever – Something Dixie, by Dixie Union), a full sister to multiple champion Girona Fever and stakes winner Filadelfia Fever, as well as a half-sister to G3 winner Dog Valiente (Teeth of the Dog). The bay filly is currently commanding $2,200 per share (sold in 12 installments),surpassing the $1,450 bid so far for Venidor Ave (Sloane Avenue), the second foal out of great champion Algecira Fever (Texas Fever).
Another prospect generating buzz is Dancer Ave (Sloane Avenue), the second foal out of champion Electrónica (Texas Fever), while Sonreíme Fever (Texas Fever), a full brother to Electrónica and stakes winner Electra Fever, is also attracting strong interest.
Catalog #80, Runner Fever (Texas Fever – Be My Bride, by Successful Appeal), is a full brother to stakes winner La Maestranza and a maternal half-brother to standout filly Dog Bride (Teeth of the Dog), hero of the Gran Premio Selección (G1) at Maroñas.
Prices are expected to soar in this second stage of Haras El Santo’s dispersal, as one of the most successful breeding operations in recent years on this side of the Río de la Plata sadly approaches its final chapter.
