The breeding farm, synonymous with Candy Ride and Strategos (photo), will welcome clients and friends this Sunday at its establishment in Estancia San Ernesto, in San Basilio, Córdoba

At Haras Ojos Claros, traditions are non-negotiable. Much less those linked to Candy Ride (Ride the Rails), the horse that changed the Alonso family's life forever and that, with the passing of time, ended up converted into an authentic icon of world turf.
That respect for roots and for history allowed the breeding farm to enjoy, almost always, great joys. The highest point came at the hands of Strategos (Zensational), another phenomenon of the white, blue, and red silks, and who today, just like his maternal grandfather Candy Ride, begins to build an impactful trajectory in reproduction.
For the Alonsos, the upcoming weekend will have a special meaning. On Sunday—the original Saturday date had to be modified due to rain forecasts—starting at 2 p.m., the Seventh Annual Auction of the stud will be held, where the genetics of Candy Ride and Strategos will appear as the great axis of attraction.
The effectiveness of the breeding farm on the tracks is forceful, and Miguel Alonso provides a revealing fact: “Of the 2022 generation, integrated by 13 products, they all raced, 9 won, and Salando las Heridas and Straldina, two children of Strategos, stood out.”
The name of the grey crosses practically the entire catalog, whether through the paternal or maternal line. In fact, one of the maximum attractions of the sale will be Il Templo, a male by Il Campione and Candy Woman, therefore a maternal brother to Strategos himself.
Among the direct children of Strategos—highly distinguished from the stallion station at El Paraíso—the filly Strabellastands out, whose dam is the G3 winner Pura Bellota (Manipulator). She is, additionally, a full sister to Salando las Heridas, who comes from chasing the crack Labrado (Le Blues) in the Clásico General Viamonte (G3), on the San Isidro turf, where he had also previously been second, at 2 years old, in the Islas Malvinas (L).
The catalog will be composed of 12 products: 10 children of Strategos, the aforementioned Il Templo, and a filly by Dr. Post (Quality Road), one of the interesting stallions that will begin to be seen in Argentine rings during 2026.
With tradition as a banner and the names of Candy Ride and Strategos as genetic backing, at Ojos Claros they continue dreaming of breeding champions. Always faithful to one idea: respecting the roots to continue building the future.
