Starting at 6:00 p.m. and held in a virtual format, the sale features daughters of intriguing stallions and pregnancies of the kind that rarely appear on the market
The auction season in Argentina shows no signs of slowing down. This Monday, the momentum continues with the Racehorse Grand Broodmare and Weanling Sale, scheduled to begin around 6:00 p.m. in an online format.
Haras Doña Pancha, El Alfalfar, Esece, Garabo, and Tres Jotas, among others, will offer a very interesting lot. For instance, the broodmare roster includes daughters of Easing Along (Storm Cat), Distinctiv Passion (With Anticipation), Mutakddim (Seeking the Gold), Treasure Beach (Galileo), Equal Stripes (Candy Stripes), Key Deputy (Deputy Minister), Exchange Rate (Danzig), Daddy Long Legs (Scat Daddy), Cima de Triomphe (Galileo), Luhuk (Forty Niner), Fortify (Distorted Humor), and Hennessy (Storm Cat). They are in foal to the likes of Distinctiv Passion, Leofric (Candy Ride), Simplification (Not This Time), Sovereign (Galileo), Mutasaabeq (Into Mischief), Imperador (Treasure Beach), Cityscape (Selkirk), and King Guillermo (Uncle Mo).
Furthermore, the weanling group consists of offspring by Distinctiv Passion, Imperador, Leofric, Lizard Island(Danehill Dancer), and Alcindor (Unbridled's Song).
El Alfalfar is not usually a regular fixture at auctions; therefore, it is significant that they are making high-quality lots from their genetic pool available to other breeders here, with many of their mares in foal to the remarkable Distinctiv Passion. One such case is Salsa Blanca Key (Key Deputy), coming from the foundation maternal line of Compasión(Combé), which has produced many of the great runners from Alfredo Camogli’s stud in recent years.
For its part, Garabo will also bring several attractive producers to the virtual ring. Gran Divina (Equal Stripes) is a full sister to the G2 winner Gran Invasor and is being sold in foal to Sovereign; Excalibur (Daddy Long Legs) is out of the stakes winner Exchangely (Exchange Rate) and is expecting a foal by Cityscape; and Equal Best (Equal Stripes), also in foal to Cityscape, hails from the line of Equal Miller (Equal Stripes) and Wild Stream (Boboman), both nearby G1 winners.
Carrying the pedigree of Candy Ride, Cima Cultural (Cima de Triomphe), in foal to the notable Simplification, represents a more than enticing prospect. Also of note is the presence of La Zanfona (Mutakddim) from Tres Jotas, expecting a foal by Leofric and belonging to the family of Grammar (Southern Halo).
