This Tuesday, the Gran Venta Estrellas of Haras Abolengo Takes Place

Starting at 3:30 p.m., at the Hipódromo de San Isidro Tattersall, the nursery will sell 60 yearlings from the 2024 crop under the hammer of Antonio Bullrich Sales

A busy Tuesday is ahead at the Hipódromo de San Isidro Tattersall, where Haras Abolengo will host its now classic Gran Venta Estrellas, offering a quality group of yearlings from the 2024 crop under the management of the Antonio Bullrich Sales firm.

With the bidding scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m., following a midday inspection, no fewer than 60 colts and fillies will step into the auction ring. The catalog includes the final crop of the formidable Equal Stripes (Candy Stripes), along with offspring of the already established Cosmic Trigger (Lizard Island), Daddy Long Legs (Scat Daddy), Treasure Beach (Galileo), and Fortify (Distorted Humor). Also featured are members of the second crop of Pneumatic (Uncle Mo) and the first crops of Ivar (Agnes Gold) and Dr. Post (Quality Road), as well as a yearling by champion Cool Day(John F Kennedy).

As usual, Abolengo focuses its Estrellas sale on individuals connected to the series organized by the Fundación Equina Argentina, which will celebrate its latest edition this coming Friday and Saturday at the Hipódromo de San Isidro.

Among the catalog highlights is Inara (Equal Stripes and Infanta Elena, by Lizard Island), a full sister to Infartame, winner of the Gran Premio Estrellas Juvenile Fillies (G1), and to Issa, winner of the Clásico Chile (G2). The first foal out of the latter is Ishtar, a filly by the superstar Ivar who appears as Hip 58 in the catalog. She is backed by the tremendous "I" family, with Intérprete (Farnesio) as one of its ultimate benchmarks.

Care One (Cosmic Trigger and Care For, by Pure Prize) is also bound to attract plenty of interest, being a half-brother to multi-champion Care Lady (Equal Stripes) and to G2 winner Carteame (Equal Stripes). High expectations also surround Aspen Girl (Cosmic Trigger and Aspen Days, by Exchange Rate), whose dam is a G3 place-getter. Both have secured strong positions in the online pre-bidding, which is currently live on the Antonio Bullrich Sales platform.

Other strong prospects in an auction that promises plenty of action include Empiric Sun (Cosmic Trigger), out of the stakes winner Empiric Rules (Roman Ruler) and a full brother to stakes-placed Ernny (Cosmic Trigger); Lo Celso(Cosmic Trigger), a son of stakes winner Love This Stripe (Equal Stripes); Hey Daddy (Daddy Long Legs); and City Colt, a brother to multi-G1-placed City and the Sex (Equal Stripes).
