Comalal’s horse dominated by 10 lengths in the Clásico Yatasto (G3), earning jockey Lucas González his first graded stakes victory

It was an unforgettable moment for jockey Lucas González this Saturday at Hipódromo de San Isidro, as one of the rising stars among Argentine riders notched his first graded stakes victory aboard the surprising Time to Think.
The triumph came in the Clásico Yatasto (G3, 1 1/2 miles, heavy turf), one of the two feature races on a rainy card, where the Comalal runner showed no signs of struggling with the step up from allowance company, powering past favorite Equal Mostaza (Equal Stripes) by a decisive 10 lengths in a European-style time of 2:34.23, reflecting the testing going over a course run with temporary rails.
By Seahenge, out of Vacación and clearly suited to longer distances, the dark bay trained by Carlos Cardón and presented by Guillermo García has shown marked improvement stepping up in trip.
Time to Think had broken his maiden late in June, in his fifth career start, and has been on an upward trajectory ever since, peaking with a dominant effort in the Yatasto.
The combination of stamina and adaptability proved key, allowing El Darwin (Il Campione) and Ninguneando(Bodemeister) to set early fractions of 27.46, 52.83, and 1:18.53. González remained patient, gradually positioning the winner, found an ideal seam entering the turn, and once straightened for home, asked him for run. Time to Think surged past Equal Mostaza in the final furlong and powered the last 300 meters like a steamroller, pulling away to the 10-length winning margin. The performance immediately puts him on the radar in graded company, with dreams of the Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini (G1) now within reach.
Bred by Haras Vacación and a grandson of the unforgettable Tough Golda (Tough Critic), Time to Think shone over testing turf and delivered Lucas González a truly unforgettable moment, another milestone in a steadily rising career.
