The mare, with a confirmed pregnancy to Gouverneur Morris, was acquired by Haras El Arroyo for 19,000 dollars

The 2026 auction season in Argentina kicked off this Tuesday with Day 1 of the Haras La Pasión Large Stock Reduction Sale, and by all appearances, nothing will be simple. Between a national economy that has yet to take off and a racing industry facing very low purses and high costs, the available stock will likely struggle to meet expectations.
At the Tattersalls Solís, as it is now called, Antonio Bullrich SA dispersed a group of broodmares and horses in training, where the top price went to Tintura de Miel, acquired for $19,000 by Haras El Arroyo.
Born in 2015, a stakes-placed performer and confirmed pregnant since October to Gouverneur Morris, the daughter of Not for Sale is a granddaughter of the remembered Ting a Folie (Careafolie), a multiple graded stakes winner in the country and full sister to Campesino, who won the GP Dardo Rocha (G1), GP 25 de Mayo (G1), and GP Provincia de Buenos Aires (G1).
The second highest mark of the day was for another mare expecting a foal by Gouverneur Morris: the 12-year-old Le Chat Assasin (Exchange Rate). A winner of two races at San Isidro and dam of the talented Leónides (Bodemeister) in Uruguay, she reached $13,000. She is a half-sister to the G2-placed Le Chatelier (Stormy Atlantic) and belongs to the family of graded winners Golden Sonata (Mr. Prospector) and Golden Yoga (Easing Along).
Rounding out the top three was Purple Rush (Fortify), offered with a male foal at foot by Il Mercato and pregnant to Mutasaabeq. The 8-year-old mare, a winner at San Isidro, reached $10,500, with Haras Masama as the winning bidder. She is a full sister to the G2-placed Joy Piba (in Chile), and her dam is a half-sister to the remarkable Sand Puce(Footstepsinthesand).
The La Pasión sale will conclude this Thursday with Day 2, starting at 2:00 PM at the Tattersall Solis. Without a doubt, it is a good time to acquire mares with strong genetics and interesting pregnancies without a superlative investment. A time for opportunities.
