Tip Happy was the top price at the Orilla del Monte dispersal sale

The yearling filly, a daughter of Hi Happy, was acquired by Stud Las Monjitas for 11,900 dollars

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Special for Turf Diario).— The dispersal sale of Haras Orilla del Monte lasted for more than 6 hours last Tuesday, marking the final exit of the Lagos family’s stud from the circuit, leaving behind a history of several decades during which it produced multiple champions. Under the hammer of Antonio Bullrich SA, the entirety of its broodmares, 2025 foals, 2024 yearlings, and reserved 2023 two-year-olds were offered, with prices catering to all interests.
In the broodmare segment, the highest price was reached by Last Teacher (Freud and Low Tolerance, by Hidden Prize), acquired for US$ 9,000 by Haras El Mallín. From the family of the fantastic Mado (Cardanil), and with a confirmed pregnancy to Ever Daddy (Daddy Long Legs), she was auctioned with a filly at foot by Gouverneur Morris(Constitution).
The second highest mark in this segment went to La Libanesca (Hurricane Cat and Libanesca, by Confidential Talk), a sister to G3 winner Laureliano (Roman Ruler), from the family of G1 winners Liberiana (Johnny's Prospect) and Love the Races (Hurricane Cat), who went to Pedro Martínez for 5,700 dollars. A winner at age 3 in San Isidro, and already the dam of Roman Libanés (Roman Joy), she passed through the virtual ring pregnant to and with a foal by Ever Daddy.
Regarding the 2024 yearlings, the top price went to the filly Tip Happy (Hi Happy and Tapzig, by Pleasant Tap), a maternal sister to G2 winner Tit Ruler (Roman Ruler) and the G1-placed Cry Me a River (Not for Sale), for whom Stud Las Monjitas made a final bid of 11,000 dollars.
Meanwhile, for US$ 6,200, Insider (Village King and In Exchange, by Exchange Rate) was sold to Gastón Lacasse. The podium of top prices among the products set to race next season was completed by Liban Beach (Treasure Beachand La Libanesca, by Hurricane Cat), who reached 6,200 dollars, purchased by Raúl Villavicencio.
Finally, among the 2023 crop, the top mark was for Jolly Campione (Il Campione and Jolly Land, by Orpen), a great-granddaughter of the double G1 winner Nortak (Fitzcarraldo), bought for 9,000 dollars by Mariano Tartaglia.
Additionally, the filly Brook Dance (Roman Joy and Queen Orpen, by Orpen), from the family of Qué Llamarada(Fumador), rose to 5,000 dollars, acquired by Luciano Zylber, acting on commission.
