The daughter of Yaupon returned to the mile and achieved her first victory; varied performances for the South Americans, completing a great week in the United Arab Emirates

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (Special for Turf Diario).– When Silvestre de Sousa dismounted from Vercors (Invincible Spirit) after winning the last race on Friday at Meydan, he said: "These are victories that make me very happy, distinct, because I know how hard Julio and Antonio work here, and how important these types of results are."
Julio is Olascoaga and Antonio is Cintra, and the Brazilian jockey's praise is merely a reflection of a reality everyone here is aware of. It is not easy to shine in such a competitive circuit, and even less so with horses slightly lower in level than those of most benchmark trainers.
Completing a weekend to toast, the Uruguayan and Brazilian duo enjoyed a great Sunday at Jebel Ali, returning to their Meydan stable with a string of notable results.
Undoubtedly, the best of them was the victory they achieved with the generous filly Tjareed in the Jebel Ali Distaff (1600m, dirt), who broke her maiden with class, recovering from the debacle that had been her participation in the UAE Oaks (G3) over 1900 meters.
Ridden by Daniel Tudhope and moving from off the pace, the Sky Racing daughter of Yaupon took command over Dozalla (Upstart) in the final 250 meters to hold on and beat that same rival by 1 length, clocking 1m38s93/100.
A while earlier, with Francisco Leandro as a partner, the duo enjoyed the excellent second-place finish of Nam Phrik (Hofburg) in the Jebel Ali Classic (1400m, dirt) as much as a win, finishing 5 1/4 lengths behind Zandvoort (Good Magic) in a distance that is not the most comfortable for the Stud Las Monjitas representative.
Olascoaga and Cintra were also third with Namanguederaz (Algorithms) in the Al Shafar Investment Stakes (1000m, dirt), just a head behind No Escape (Into Mischief); meanwhile, in the Newbury Racecourse Cup (1600m, dirt), they finished third and fourth with Don Pelícano (Midshipman) and Quartier (Matterhorn), just over 7 lengths behind Mawhoob (War of Will).
