With Emanuel Flores in the irons, she won from gate to wire in the Handicap Tintilla

The Handicap Tintilla (1000m, normal dirt), the main event of Monday's card at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo, was essentially a one-horse race. The favorite, Tormenta China, broke on top and stayed on top, leaving her rivals without the slightest glimmer of hope.

Carrying a middle weight of 55 kilos, she never looked back, traveling close to the outer rail and finishing with authority to cross the wire with a 4-length advantage over La Puketa (In the Dark, 54). The topweight Doña Chila (Peten Itza, 60) finished third, just a neck further back. The final time was an outstanding :56.57, a remarkable clocking considering that the Buenos Aires surface has been playing quite deep lately.

Emanuel Jairo Flores has a perfect understanding of the daughter of Malenchini, who has strongly regained her form in recent months. This follows a period where she had performed slightly below expectations after her victory in the Clásico España (L), though she never failed significantly.

Owned by the La Pampa-based Stud Flo-Ma-Lo and saddled by Miguel A. Natali, this marked her sixth career victory and her third in a row over the Palermo kilometer—a clear testament to her excellent current form, which paves the way for a return to stakes company.

Out of Irish Storm (Storm Surge), Tormenta China’s third dam is the distinguished Imagination (Southern Halo). She hails from a family rooted in Haras Ojo de Agua that has branched out into several of the most important national nurseries, maintaining its relevance to this day at farms such as Firmamento and Vacación.
