The Treasure Beach colt faces Endor Rye once again, having recently defeated him convincingly in the Handicap Dorian Gray

The older-distance division will feature one of its more traditional clashes this Sunday on the Palermo main track: the Clásico Vicente L. Casares (G3-2500m) for 4-year-olds and up—a race that, over time, has gradually lost prestige, becoming one of those events the tracks no longer prioritize.
Only four horses were confirmed for the starting gate, led by Treasure Island, who recently returned to the winner’s circle in the Handicap Dorian Gray, carrying 61 kilos. That day, he easily defeated Endor Rye (Endorsement), who ran with 62 kilos and finished five lengths back—a margin both significant and, at the very least, surprising.
The Treasure Beach colt boasts a stellar record, including standout wins in the Dardo Rocha (G1) and Copa de Oro (G1), along with multiple other stakes performances, showing versatility from 1,200 meters to virtually every distance in between.
Endor Rye, meanwhile, has been a consistent force in this division. Prior to his loss to the favorite, he had finished second in the Gran Premio Estrellas Classic (G1) and the Clásico Malvinas Argentinas (L), and third in the Gran Premio República Argentina (G1), among other notable performances.
Also in the mix is Valle Barun (Vástago Salvaje), who is enjoying a positive phase, winning two of his last three starts and most recently finishing second by 2 1/2 lengths to Davalos (Hi Happy) in the Clásico Italia (G3).
Rounding out the compact field is the capable Billion (Galicado), seeking to recapture the form he showed as a juvenile and at other points in his career, including classic-level victories like the Coronel Miguel F. Martínez (G3). Returning from a layoff, Billion most recently finished third in the Italia, just behind Valle Barun, suggesting he could step forward in form this Sunday.
