BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Special for Turf Diario).— Fixtures were finalized on Monday for upcoming meetings at Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo and Hipódromo de San Isidro, with the former supplying the feature highlights as the build-up continues toward the marquee Gran Premio Nacional (G1) card.

The sprint division takes center stage at the corner of Avenida del Libertador and Dorrego, led by a high-stakes clash for fillies and mares in the Clásico Venezuela (G2) over 1000 meters on the dirt.

The preliminary entry list featured nine names, and following the lone scratch of Roshita (Gouverneur Morris), a field of eight will go to the post. Among the contenders are the top 3-year-old fillies Amiguita Casual (Todo Un Amiguito) and Pasión del Alma Pass (Distinctiv Passion).

Joining them in what promises to be a thriller down the straight line are La Bella Otero (Daddy Long Legs), Lissette Island (Lizard Island), Enjoy Dancing (Hi Happy), Vieja Amiga Mask (Mask), Tartana Frank (Gidu), and Filha(Nashville Texan).

Sprinting action will also headline the card on Thursday, October 29, anchored by the Clásico Aristophanes (1000m, dirt) for horses 4 years old and up under weight-for-age conditions. The field expanded after the Racing Office opted to reopen entries, ultimately confirming a competitive lineup.

Aligning at the gate will be Dom Rui (Storm Embrujado), Ask for Wild (Angiolo), Chuck Spring (Chuck Berry), Exclamación Pass (Distinctiv Passion), El Angus (Nicholas), Cao Viejo (Strategos), and Rey de la Calle (Che Micky).

Across town at Hipódromo de San Isidro, racing will take place on Friday, October 23, and Wednesday, October 28, albeit without black-type events on the calendar.

This Friday’s centerpiece is the Handicap Alan Breck (1600m, turf) for 4-year-olds and up. The ten confirmed runners are: Forging (Forge, 58 1/2 kg), Folie Ninja (Hat Ninja, 55 1/2 kg), Tryman (Safety Check, 58 kg), Viejo Varieté(Qué Vida Buena, 57 1/2 kg), Chaplin (Nicholas, 57 kg), Kavac (Cityscape, 54 1/2 kg), Midnight Runner (Forge, 52 kg), Capital Boss (Holy Boss, 55 1/2 kg), Orpen Again (Seek Again, 55 kg), and Yak Sport (Glory Seattle, 57 kg).

On Wednesday, October 28, attention shifts to the Handicap Final Meeting (1200m, dirt) for horses 5 years old and up, following the withdrawal of El Mejor Recuerdo.

Hiran (Santillano, 61 kg) shoulder top weight against El Interventor (Il Campione, 56 kg), Flaminius (Hi Happy, 54 kg), Glorioso Rim (Remote, 54 1/2 kg), Don Pichi (Qué Vida Buena, 56 1/2 kg), the Brazilian-bred Forge (Agnes Gold, 56 kg), Príncipe Soñado (Fragotero, 56 1/2 kg), and Say It Fast (Cosmic Trigger, 57 1/2 kg).
