The elite rider enjoyed a phenomenal afternoon at San Isidro, anchoring his standout performance by guiding the talented Rubio B. mare to a comprehensive victory in the Clásico Estrellas Dirt

The opening card of the Carreras de las Estrellas festival produced a definitive human headline on Friday afternoon at Hipódromo de San Isidro, as elite jockey William Pereyra put on a spectacular riding clinic. Pereyra kicked off his sensational hat-trick in the Clásico Estrellas Dirt Junior aboard Vivir En Paz (Fortify), followed up with a brilliant front-running masterpiece in the Gran Premio Estrellas Juvenile Fillies (G1) guiding Unica Forma (Full Mast), and put the exclamation point on an unforgettable afternoon by piloting Victoria Bayern to a commanding victory in the Clásico Estrellas Dirt.
While Pereyra’s immense tactical talents have long been established, this three-win showcase served as a vivid reminder of why he continues to sit at the absolute pinnacle of the national jockey standings.
In the 1,300-meter main track event, Pereyra refused to panic when the chestnut daughter of Santillano encountered early traffic and raced in tight quarters down the backstretch. Showing characteristic patience, the rider smoothly navigated the mare into clear paths, tracking the top flight from a striking position turning for home. Once angled into the clear at the top of the stretch, Pereyra executed his drive with natural, clinical efficiency.
Victoria Bayern proved to be a highly willing partner, unleashing a devastating turn of foot to swiftly inhale the pacesetters and clear the field, maintaining a comfortable 3 1/2-length margin across the wire. Behind her, Happy Star (Fortify) sustained a powerful late rally to snatch the runner-up spot by a neck on the line from a resilient Naimabad (Il Campione).
Campaigned as the heavy post-time favorite by the powerhouse Stud Rubio B. operation, Victoria Bayern has maintained an enviable, ultra-consistent form cycle under the expert care of trainer Juan Carlos Etchechoury Jr. With this latest trophy, the conditioner further cements his status alongside Roberto Pellegatta as one of the two most successful mentors in the rich history of the Fundación Equina Argentina's championship series.
Stopping the clock in a sharp 1:16.33 over a fast dirt track, Victoria Bayern earned her definitive breakthrough at the stakes level, officially graduating into an Estrellas champion.
