The Tinta Roja mare turned the tables on her recent conqueror from the Clásico Potri Pe, defeating her in the Clásico Aníbal Etchart

Revenge arrived quickly for Vieja Amiga Mask (58 1/2 kg.), who narrowly defeated Pretoriana (Daniel Boone, 55) in the Clasico Anibal D. Etchart (1000m, turf), turning the tables after falling to that same rival in the Clasico Potri Pejust a few weeks ago.
Undeterred by carrying the top weight, the daughter of Mask rallied from the back of the pack from the 300-meter mark to the wire, catching her rival to prevail by a half-neck in a final time of :55.55.
Portuaria Lure (Puerto Escondido, 56) was tasked with setting the pace and held the lead until the 200-meter pole, where Pretoriana took command. It appeared the victory would go to the Santa María de Araras homebred until the Tinta Roja grey accelerated sharply to claim the trophy.
Portuaria Lure finished third, 2 1/2 lengths back in a solid effort, while the favorite Gata Frank (Gidu, 54) was fourth, another half-neck behind. William Pereyra was in the irons for the winner.
Bred in Santa Fe by Fredy Farioli’s Haras La Valkiria, Vieja Amiga Mask recorded her fifth and most important victory in a campaign featuring only one finish out of the money. Now firmly established as a sprinter, she is currently performing at the top of her game. The grey is a half-sister to Amigazo Sky (Falling Sky), the leader of his generation in La Plata, who narrowly lost the Polla (G1) at Palermo at the wire against El Kodigo (Equal Stripes), also representing the Tinta Roja colors.
