The winner of the Breeders' Cup Classic and the Pegasus World Cup will remain in training for the rest of the season before launching a new chapter at one of Kentucky's most prominent nurseries

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (Special to Turf Diario).– One of the great names in contemporary American racing already has his reproductive future secured. C2 Racing Stable confirmed that White Abarrio will enter stud in 2027, when he will begin standing at Gainesway Farm once his racing career comes to a close.

The news was made official this Wednesday and arrives as the remarkable son of Race Day goes through another great season, backed by performances that have consolidated his place among the best horses of the last decade in the United States.

At 7 years old, White Abarrio amasses an outstanding campaign of 11 victories, 3 seconds, and 3 thirds from 26 presentations, with earnings already exceeding 8.4 million dollars.

Among his most important conquests are the 2023 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1), the 2024 Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1), the 2023 Whitney Stakes (G1), and the 2022 Florida Derby (G1).

"It is rare to find a horse that arrives at stud with such a level of consistency in high-level competition and who is also a grandson of two of the most influential stallions of recent years, like Tapit and Into Mischief," commented Antony Beck, head of Gainesway. "We are very excited about what he can still achieve on the track during the remainder of 2026 and also about the impact he can generate as a producer when he joins our roster."

White Abarrio showed quality right from the start. He debuted at 2 years old with a 6 3/4-length victory and quickly became one of the leaders of his generation by prevailing in dominant fashion in the Holy Bull Stakes (G3) and subsequently in the Florida Derby (G1).

His definitive explosion arrived as a 4-year-old. First, he crushed his rivals by 6 1/4 lengths in the Whitney Stakes, handing Cody's Wish (Curlin) the only defeat of his Horse of the Year championship campaign in 2023. Months later, he reached the summit by capturing the Breeders' Cup Classic at Santa Anita Park, defeating a field that included 7 G1 winners.

White Abarrio is a son of Race Day and Catching Diamonds, by Into Mischief, while his paternal grandsire is the extraordinary Tapit, one of the great modern cornerstones of Gainesway.

The horse will continue competing during the remainder of the season before launching his second career, this time as a stallion, at a nursery that has historically sheltered some of the most influential sires in North American breeding.

With such a resume, speed, stamina, and top-tier genetics, White Abarrio already has a reserved spot among the most attractive names of the new generation of stallions that will begin to populate the Kentucky studs starting in 2027.
