La Plata re-offers the juvenile feature; small field of six puts the race back on the bubble

Will the third time be the charm for the Clásico Luis María Doyhenard (G3)? The industry will find out this Monday, as the Bosque track has rescheduled and reopened entries for the 1,300-meter juvenile test, now slated for Tuesday, April 21.
The situation remains precarious, with only six colts entered. However, after two previous cancellations, the track has little room to maneuver; a final cancellation would severely jeopardize the race's graded status. The list of hopefuls includes divisional leader Chichipío (Angiolo), along with El Pirata (Il Campione), Fogoso Moi (El Moisés), Full Lujoso (Full Mast), Los Llanos (Le Blues), and Salvador Glorioso (Glorious Moment).
Tuesday's card is set to be a triple-header of stakes action. Joining the Doyhenard are the Clásico Asociación Bonaerense de Propietarios de Caballos de Carrera (G3) and the Clásico Curtida Nistel, both contested over 1,200 meters. The "Propietarios" for 3-year-olds and up attracted 10 entries, including Rugiente (Il Campione) and Azzurro Key (Key Deputy), while the Curtida Nistel for older mares boasts a deep field of 20 probables, featuring Isolation (Suggestive Boy) and Look Happy (Hi Happy).
Action at La Plata will continue Thursday, April 23, headlined by the Handicap Haras Abolengo (1,200m). A massive field of 16 has been assembled for the sprint, with the seasoned Vespaciano (Daniel Boone) assigned the high weight of 61 kg (134 lbs).
