LA PLATA.– The lackluster card scheduled for this Thursday at the racetrack of this city, consisting of just 9 races, will have as its centerpiece the Especial Patria, a traditional event for debuting 2-year-old colts over a 1500-meter trip on the dirt track.

There are several names coming in with interesting morning works, although, as always happens in this type of contest, things often turn out differently in the afternoon.

Stud Marías del Sur sends Wiloma (Gouverneur Morris) full of hope from Entre Ríos, sharpened by Rubén Quirogaand entrusted to the hands of Juan Pablo Paoloni. His pedigree is top-class, and there is plenty of enthusiasm surrounding him.

A pair of colts arrive from Palermo with big ambitions. On one hand, Omar Labanca dreams of finding another stakes-winning son of Tetaze with Temerario Stripes; on the other, Jorge Mayansky Neer targets the top prize with Igor(Treasure Beach).

Sent as a special challenger from San Isidro's Campo 2 is Black James (Seahenge), trained by Juan Carlos and Juan Sebastián Maldotti and tightened to perfection to strike on debut and maintain the excellent form of the stable.

Among the locals, the morning trackwork of Murmullo (Manipulator), from the Angel Piana battalion (to be saddled by Jonathan Fredes), caught the eye. There is also high hope for Take One (Japan), carrying the ultra-successful silks of Stud El Gruñón. Lastly, Rare Triomphe (Cima de Triomphe) could well hit the board at a big price.
