The daughter of Endorsement claimed the Especial Mangangá, Thursday's feature race, defeating the favorite by 1 1/2 lengths

LA PLATA.– It seemed that Emely (Il Campione, 58) was going to make a winning comeback. However, in the closing stages of the Especial Mangangá, Winning Wind (Endorsement, 56) charged from the back of the pack to snatch the victory, guided by Gonzalo Borda who is currently in a state of grace, as he completed a brilliant four-timer on the day to firmly anchor himself at the top of the jockey standings.
Conditioned by Marcelo Sueldo at San Isidro's Campo 2, the winner settled in mid-pack while Jaque Mate Sar(Sardinero, 52) attempted to capitalize on her low weight, setting the pace with an initial fraction of 23s51/100. The favorite never let her break away alone, pressing her early on and appearing in front in the homestretch with winning aspirations. Those hopes lasted until Winning Wind burst onto the scene, crossing the wire with 1 1/2 lengths in her favor after a sharp 59s43/100.
A neck back, Jaque Mate Sar battled back to secure third place right there, with an identical margin over Bantia (John F Kennedy, 54), who completed the superfecta. Doña Chila (Peten Itza), another key contender in the preview who carried the top weight of 62 kilos, finished seventh without contributing much this time around.
For Winning Wind, this marked her sixth victory in 21 starts, adding to a campaign that has shown tremendous consistency for some time now.
