Even with the bonus, the winner of the prestigious classic will not take home more than AR$13 million; 13 entries are confirmed for the race on Tuesday the 23rd.

LA PLATA.- El Bosque will experience a week full of action, as in addition to the Gran Premio Selección de Potrancas (G1), the card will feature the second leg of the Triple Crown with the Clásico Jockey Club de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (G3) on Tuesday the 23rd. The 2000-meter race offers a shamefully low first prize of ARS 8,460,000—barely more than what a maiden winner takes home at Palermo.
Even with the ARS 4,000,000 bonus added for the winner, the equation barely improves. This clearly shows that the Southern Administration has no understanding of what these races mean, raising again the age-old question: what exactly is being done with the Repair Fund?
The owner of the Jockey Club winner will pocket roughly USD 4,000—an amount that wouldn’t even buy a lower-tier yearling at a modest sale.
That said, Winston (Forge) is ready to reaffirm his dominance after comfortably taking the Clásico Polla de Potrillos (G3), aiming for glory and little else beyond covering expenses. He comes into the race emboldened after Gardel Pass(Distinctiv Passion) won the Palermo Polla de Potrillos (G1), having previously finished second to Winston in the local Clásico Pedro Goenaga (G2), before taking the lead in the generation.
Sono Perfetto (Tetaze), who recently captured the Clásico José Pedro Ramírez (G3) and had finished second to Winston in the Clásico Isidoro Aramburu (G3), appears once again as his main rival among a list of 17 possibles, which also includes: Bar de Atenas (Reride), Emblematicu (Lucullan), Irish Coffee (Fortify), Llebrenc (Forge), Nassau (Forge), Purple Nich (Nicholas), Regalo del Sol (Lucullan), Sippin Whisky (Springdom), Trovatto (Remote), Un Infierno(Dabster), Amuni (Tetaze), Big Capo (Capolicho), First to Run (Daniel Boone), Piñazo (John F Kennedy), and Társico Sam (Társico).
The card will also feature the Clásico Stud Book Argentino (L-2200 m, dirt) for horses 4 years and older, one of the final prep races on the road to the Gran Premio Dardo Rocha (G1), with a first prize of ARS 7,330,000.
The five entrants are: Best Portal (Portal del Alto), Che Banquero (Greenspring), Look Portal (Portal del Alto), Mister Coquette (Bodemeister), and Sofware (Treasure Beach).
